Synchronicity in Two Cities?
I had decided to finally dive back into some science learning and started listening to Carl Sagan’s “The Demon Haunted World.” At the same time, I’ve felt myself getting tired later on in the afternoon once more and was looking for some stronger coffee to drink than the regular Lavazaa stuff I’ve been drinking. I wound up buying some double caffeine stuff called Wake the Hell Up coffee and tried it out.
Â
The day I received the coffee, I happened to glance and read the copyright on the outside of the box and saw that the company was located in Utica, NY. Later that day I had yard work to do. Lots of yard work to do since my weedwhacker had gone down and after attempting to locate my receipt and figure out if I should do a warranty claim after having tried to get it serviced and fixed (which is where I was told it was caput due to low compression), I finally found a new product to use, the Greenworks brand of battery-operated yard tools found on Amazon.
Â
This entire process took a little over a month from lack of motivation in wanting to get it done, so you can imagine how overgrown my property was at this point. Suffice it to say that I had many, many hours of yard work to accomplish on this day, which also meant that I’d have lots of time to listen to the book I was listening to.
Â
While cutting some palm fronds down from one of my seventeen palm trees, the Carl Sagan book reached Chapter 22, I think. It was the chapter when he discusses the creation and building of a community science center in the city of Ithaca, NY, back whenever it was this book was written. Utica, NY, on the newly bought box of coffee. Ithaca, NY, while listening to this book.
Â
Obviously, they weren’t a 100% match, but to hear almost the exact same name for a city, both in NY even. . .coincidence? Or the merging of the inner and outer in a synchronous type experience?
Â
I’ll let you be the judge of that.
